What is Hiragana?

Four kinds of letters are used in Japanese; Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji and Roman characters

Example: わたしはJRのバスで大学に行きます。

「わたし」「は」「の」「で」「に」「きます」are Hiragana.

 「バス」is Katakana. 

 「大学」「行」are kanji. 

 「JR」is Roman characters.

Hiragana and pronunciation
Hiragana consists of 46 letters. Each letter corresponds to a sound.
The symbols are curvilinear in style.
